
Dr.
Pokorny is a board certified otolaryngologist who came to Spokane after
10 years of solo practice in Park City, Utah. Dr. Pokorny was born and
raised in Spokane, where he attended Ferris High School. He continued
his education at Dartmouth College, where he was captain of the
Cross-Country team. Then he returned to the Pacific Northwest,
graduating with honors from the University of Washington School of
Medicine.
After completing his
residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University
of Utah, Dr. Pokorny chose to stay in Park City, so his sons could
compete in ski jumping and nordic combined. While in Utah he served as
president of the Summit County Medical Society, president of the Utah
Young Physicians, and as a trustee of the Utah Medical Society. He was
also active in several non-profit boards, including being the founding
president of the local hospital board. He is married to Valerie
Logsdon, MD, who served as medical operations officer for the Salt Lake
Olympics. |
