
Dr.
Neil Giddings is a recognized pioneer and expert in the field of
cochlear implants, and was the first physician in the Inland Northwest
to perform the procedures. His work has been ground breaking in
practice, restoring hearing to scores of patients. Dr. Giddings
includes chronic ear disease, otosclerosis, tumors of the skull base,
facial nerve disorders, cochlear implantation, and implantable hearing
aids as his particular medical interests. He is board certified in
Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery.
Dr.
Giddings received his medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio at
Toledo followed by an internship in general surgery at the Cleveland
Clinic Foundation. He completed his residency at Geisinger Medical
Center in Pennsylvania, in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery. He
has also completed a fellowship in neurotology and skull base surgery
at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles, CA.
Before coming to Spokane, Dr Giddings was an associate at Geisinger
Medical Center, providing teaching instruction to medical students,
residents, and staff personnel.
Dr.
Giddings holds membership in many professional organizations at
state and national levels. He has authored papers and articles
for medical publications, and has presented speeches pertaining to the
practice of Neurotology at numerous medical conferences. He remains
active in the education of University of Washington residents, as well
as primary care physicians, and hearing aid dispensers through programs
at the local universities.
